ABOUT THE ELTHAM ART SHOW

Annual Eltham Art Show | The Art Heritage of The Nillumbik Shire

An initiative of the Rotary Club of Eltham

Rotary Eltham first presented a ‘Renaissance’ of the Art History of the Nillumbik in September 2022. The exhibition comprised over 460 2D works by 187 artists. Artists associated with foundations connected to the early forefathers of Nillumbik Art proudly brought together an eclectic display of modern 2D techniques and talent. Over 500 visitors a day viewed the iconic show over three days public viewing. Judging over six categories with attractive prize monies brought out the best of the best.

66% of the total value of the exhibition was sold

August 2024 will again bring an inspiring 3D exhibition.

The show invites Artists through wider Victoria to exhibit within the categories being offered.

Ceramics, Sculpture, Jewellery, Woodwork and Glass.

We need your help to support this event.

100% of the proceeds will benefit the Rotary Club of Eltham’s community projects.

The Rotary Club of Eltham recognises its Shire as being the birthplace of Tonal Painting and more, established by the forefathers of Art.

The art presented at the show is exclusive to those Artists who have a direct association to the forefathers of the Art History of Nillumbik.

Withers, Meldrum, Frater, Douglas, Pugh, Baldessin, Skipper, Jorgensen plus many other colourful and talented characters etched themselves into the Art History of Nillumbik through associations such as Montsalvat, Dunmoochin and Baldessin Press.

Over 30 Rotary Clubs through Victoria present an Art Show as part of their major project profiles. Those shows are open to all artists from across the state and beyond.

The Eltham Art Show is exclusive, fully curated and selective. Artists must qualify to enter the show.

These guidelines will maintain the integrity of the show and the legacy of the Art History of Nillumbik through its unique development over time.
