THE ART HERITAGE OF THE NILLUMBIK SHIRE

Since the early 1900s, the artistic heritage of the Nillumbik Shire has reached the far corners of Victoria. A heritage that includes Artists with local beginnings and who have become recognised across Australia and internationally as delivering an expert representation of their chosen mediums. The Eltham Art Show, this year titled Art Heritage of the Nillumbik Shire welcomes Artists who have a strong connection with Nillumbik to exhibit, be it residential, educational or institutional, e.g. Montsalvat, Dunmoochin, Baldessin Studio. Artists who have been a member of one of our many local artistic groups, or have exhibited at a major exhibition e.g. The Nillumbik Prize, or at one of the past or present local galleries e.g. Lighthouse Gallery, Wiregrass Gallery, Gallery 7 six 5.

If you are an artist with this experience within the Nillumbik Shire, you qualify to enter the inaugural Eltham Art Show in 2022  Art Heritage of the Nillumbik Shire.

The show is a meticulously selected show of contemporary work curated by Melbourne art consultant Brenda Innes and professionally hosted at the Eltham Community and Reception Centre by the Rotary Club of Eltham.

The period of the exhibition is from the 1st to the 4th of September.

The Gala Opening and award announcements will be held on Thursday the 1st of September.

We and the artist community of Nillumbik are excited to bring attention to the rich artistic heritage and contemporary artwork of the region. The influence and impact of this area on the arts industry at many levels.

If you are an artist, we would be delighted to receive your registration and work submissions, should you qualify within the guidelines.

The Eltham Art Show invites all people locally and from afar to attend.
