Rose has been a painter, printmaker and occasional sculptor through much of her adult life, which at times was interrupted by parenting and working responsibilities. As a young women she qualified as an art teacher with a major in painting. Throughout her adult life she also worked with a few artist mentors and art groups to continue her artistic development including tonal painting, and now while her subject matter is quite recognisable it includes a more expressionist and experimental approach. She has participated in a number of group exhibitions and been a finalist in the Nillumbik prize twice and currently works in her studio located in the Melbourne rural fringe.
More recently exhibited and taught at the Victorian Artists Society, East Melbourne.
