Melisa is an artist from Eltham, whose work centres on her photographic practice, and is punctuated by the occasional acrylic painting.
Her photographic art centres on a few subjects that are a constant focus. Botanical details and otherwise unseen elements that are often unnoticed, or invisible without great
magnification are central to her practise. The overlooked, the intimate and introspective are captured and brought to a new level of magnification.
Melisa uses software to create the final images and experiments constantly. Some images are highly manipulated with many layers of information. Her paintings are of similar subject matter and style, sometimes evolving from her photographic work. She is highly influenced by her surroundings, and inspired by international explorations.
Melisa’s work is detailed, emotionally driven and reflective, showcasing her observation skills in her extensive creative practice.
She has exhibits regularly in group shows and occasional solo exhibitions.
Her work is held in Private Collections in South America, Canada and Australia.
