  • Artist’s Statement

Nillumbik has been my home for the last 35 years. Panton Hill Living and Learning Centre was where I picked up my paint brushes again after a long break, more recently I have been lucky enough to be part of John Orlando Birt's water colour group. Living on a rural property close to many iconic Nillumbik landscapes is a constant source of inspiration and joy.

Painting dogs and horses is something that I have pursued separately, painting many four legged friends belonging to local friends and family.

  • Biography

After a varied working life, raising two children, and running a small farm, I now have time to concentrate on my painting. Mainly working in water colour I enjoy painting both landscapes and also portraits of dogs and horses. Painting gives me a connection to the world that is healing and peaceful. Immersing myself in something outside of the everyday, really looking at a landscape or an animal and trying to capture that single moment in time, is both hypnotic and fun.
