
Ian Toohill
Biography
Ian has been an Art teacher with the Victorian Education department , professional photographer and film maker for over forty years . Having a diploma of fine art with twin majors in Photography and Sculpture and a Bachelor of Education in media studies, he held his first photographic exhibition in 1981. Titled Photo Noir, the show was shot at Monsalvat based on the Hammer Gothic films of the 50's and 60's. Since then he had a number of successful one man and group exhibitions focusing on a range of topics from the Studio Nude to environmental portraits and landscape themes in a variety of locations including Antarctica, Nepal, Timor Leste and Solomon Islands. Some of these locations were visited as part of his role as an Officer in the Army Reserve. Ian is currently working on a series of landscapes from recent trips to the USA and Nepal. The photos submitted for this online exhibition are samples from local and overseas locations visited prior to the Pandemic. The inkjet prints are archival mounted on foam core and matted ready for framing.
