Fraser The Razor

Fraser The Razor

  • Artist’s Statement

I moved to the Nillumbik Shire, Kangaroo Ground, at the start of the year.

  • Biography

Fraser the Razor is a sculptor working mostly in metal, taking inspiration from local flora and fauna.  Having recently made the interstate tree change to Nillumbik, he has found a whole new palette.  Mostly exhibiting in group gallery shows both locally and interstate, Fraser has also exhibited work at outdoor sculpture prizes and secured a couple of artist residencies.
The 'eyes' is an ongoing body of work which evolved during lockdown.  As the series grows in numbers it also grows in size and scale.  Inspiration came from new growth in the Spring and reflects on personal growth and development during these strange times.  Textured organic forms emerge out of smooth geometric frames; the works give a free flowing form to the hard, rigid, industrial material which creates a contrasting sense of energy, life and spirit.
*Please note I exhibit under my artist name 'Fraser the Razor'
