Dawn Rieniets is a painter who dabbles in collage and resin art. An American-slash-Aussie she’s been in Melbourne for 12 years and a citizen since 2018 (practically a local).
She studied Art at The State University of New York at Buffalo (over 20 years ago, now) when her parents encouraged her to ‘get a real job’. She tried that for a while.
After Motherhood shattered her identity, Dawn used painting to piece together a fulfilling career from the shards.
Art-as-therapy steadily grew into a business. Dawn’s blog, Kangaroo Spotting evolved into a virtual shop, portfolio, and now she exhibitss with local Artist groups, Thou Art Mum and Melbourne and Victorian Artists (MAVA).
Dawn works from her home studio in Macleod, surrounded by gum trees, lorikeets and kangaroos.
